The up side of all this hedgehog/bird monitoring
is we get to see other visitors as they traverse our garden
and get captured on film. We have footage of Foxs, Shrews, Squirrels, Lizards, Spiders, Mice, Rats, Cats, Rabbits and Deer*, (*although that was in the field next door) |

There have been 3 Collared Dove fatalities in a week (09/03/25), all with no outward sign of trauma we've attributed this to Avian Flu. Before disposal of the first two corpses could be undertaken the corpses had disappeared, and the third had moved. I trained a camera on the third body and a clean up crew appeared, 1st on the scene a weasel and over the rest of the day a squad of sparrows collected up the feathers left by the weasel for bespoke nesting material |
